Joe McElderry has said he would "definitely consider" a role in Coronation Street or Emmerdale.
The 23-year-old, who is currently on his 'Evolution' tour of the UK, said he "would love to do a soap".

In an interview with Digital Spy, McElderry said: "I'd love to do a soap – I think that would be fun. But I would always do it alongside singing because I think I'd miss the singing too much.
"But I'd definitely consider it, I'd love to do a little role in something.
"I do enjoy acting," he continued. "I suppose I act a little bit through performing songs, and I think as you're doing the pantos and stuff and learning how to ad-lib on the spot – that's been a great lesson in terms of drama."

Asked whether there was a soap in particular that he was a fan of, McElderry said: "I think I could do Emmerdale or Coronation Street. Somehow I don't think I've got the accent for EastEnders, so I'll leave that to the southerners!"
