Coronation Street's Tyrone predicts shock reunion with Fiz

Coronation Street's Tyrone Dobbs is hoping for a shock reunion between himself and former partner Fiz Stape, following the pair's awkward Christmas Day smooch.

In the ITV soap's hour-long episode on December 25, Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) will be seen choosing to stay in Weatherfield for the holidays, rather than jet off to someplace warm with new boyfriend Phill Whittaker (Jamie Kenna) and daughters Hope and Ruby.

Mistaking the gesture, and reckoning he has a real shot of winning Fiz back, Tyrone (Alan Halsall) tries to kiss his former partner – which doesn't go down well with the latter.

Despite that, though, she, Tyrone and Phill seem to patch things up and enjoy the festive season together. That is, until Tyrone pulls his grandmother Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) to one side, and reveals that he's willing to wait for Phill to grow bored of playing 'the family man'.

Talking about a potential reconciliation in the future, McAlpine previously told Digital Spy and other media: "Fiz would love Tyrone not to have done what he did – not to have absolutely blown their family apart. But does she want the Tyrone that exists now, the one that's done this to her? That's really hard.

"Fiz wants the one that was there before, before he ran off with Alina. She thought that she was enough for him.

"Fiz's heart is definitely there with Tyrone, because of all the history. Hopefully we've seen bits of that already. When Kirsty died out of the blue, Fiz was there for Tyrone. She was even there a little bit when he and Alina lost the baby. Her heart is with him.

"There just always a place for Tyrone, isn't there? But maybe Phill could be the lodger!"
