Coronation Street character Curtis Delamere has told his fiancée Emma Brooker another big lie tonight after she confronted him over his medication.

The drama picked up in the wake of yesterday's episode, which saw Emma rush young Ruby to hospital after she swallowed one of Curtis' life-saving heart pills, only to be left confused when the doctor assured Emma that the pill was in fact just a vitamin tablet.

As she returned home in tonight's (December 14) episode, Emma reassured Ruby's dad Tyrone that her emergency hospital visit was just a false alarm.

With Emma and Curtis' wedding day fast approaching, will Emma ever learn the truth about Curtis' illness?

Previously, Curtis actor Sam Retford told Digital Spy and other media how he'd managed to keep his character's condition a secret.

"It's been pretty tough, because it's something that's fascinated me so much and it's something that I've really tried to delve into," he said.

"I didn't pretend it wasn't going to happen. For example, if you were to watch the episodes back, you would see all of his actions are influenced by this. So it's something that has always been in the very forefront of my mind but never something I was able to talk about. It's been pretty tough."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7.30pm on ITV.
