The first details of Todd Grimshaw's dramatic return to Coronation Street have been revealed.

Stella and The Archers actor Gareth Pierce is set to make his first appearance in the ITV soap next week as the new Todd, taking over from Bruno Langley.

Recent weeks have seen Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) and Paul (Peter Ash) struggling to track down Todd, after learning he'd teamed up with friend Safia to steal from a local gangster.

They will share what they've discovered with Todd's mum Eileen (Sue Cleaver), leaving her more determined than ever to find out what's happened to her troubled son.

A home intruder causes chaos for the Grimshaws soon after, with Sean (Antony Cotton) unaware that it had been Todd when he fled the scene in a hurry.

Later, Eileen finds a note from Todd, asking for a secret meeting at the old warehouse.

Eileen remains calm when local copper Craig (Colson Smith) asks her to come and identify a body they believe could be Todd, as she knows her son is very much alive.

But the warehouse meeting is no happy homecoming for mother and son, as Todd admits his life is very much in danger. Meanwhile, the family's private investigator has warned Sean to get in touch with Eileen immediately.

A terrifying ordeal manifests when a threatening person steps out from the shadows at the warehouse. Is Eileen's life in danger?
