Coronation Street star Alan Halsall has said he learnt so much from working with iconic soap couple Jack and Vera Duckworth.
Speaking on This Morning, Alan – whose character Tyrone Dobbs was taken in by Jack and Vera when he moved to the Street – explained that actors Bill Tarmey and Liz Dawn taught him a lot on and off screen.
"I was so lucky to be put with those two," Alan said. "I learnt from them so much on and off screen.
"I genuinely don't think I'd still be on Corrie without Bill and Liz."
Alan went on to say that he still misses Bill, who passed away in 2012, and Liz, who passed away five years later.
"Bill drummed into me his morals and worth ethic," Alan continued.

"I've continued that in his memory. I have so much to thank them for. I love them to pieces and still think of them all the time.
"I still have Bill's old watch and a beautiful painting that Liz gave to me which I look at all the time. I think of them all the time and miss them a lot."
On Wednesday's (July 1) visit to the cobbles, Tyrone and his partner Fiz Stape were left horrified when Fiz realised that they are turning into Jack and Vera.
But speaking to TV Times last week, Alan admitted that he doesn't want Tyrone and Fiz to be the new Jack and Vera.
"I've heard it for years, but they're out there on their own, and actually I don't want to be the new Jack and Vera – I want to be Tyrone and Fiz," Alan said.
"They were wonderful characters that I grew up with and I'd like them to be out there on a pedestal, high above us."
Coronation Street currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
