Coronation Street's Catherine Tyldesley looked completely unrecognisable as she transformed into a rather unexpected character on Instagram earlier today (March 23).

As schools up and down the country are closed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the soap star took to her social media account to introduce Mrs Olga Keff – her son Alfie's very familiar-looking, new music teacher.

Spoiler alert: It was actually Catherine in a dark wig, big glasses, a red check scarf and blue plastic gloves.

"I've come to tell y'all about my treble clef," she said in a video as she addressed the camera in character. "I thought I'd do an online tuition video to combat these times of woe. There's no bugger else to do, eh?"

Then, she started tinkling on a small keyboard in front of her and singing deliberately out of key.

"Really engage ya diagram," Tyldesley – sorry, Mrs Keff – continued. "Really let it resonate. I actually taught my cousin."

"That lady from Coronation Street," she went on, holding up Tyldesley's debut album Rise. "She did an album, you know? 2016. I taught her everything she knows. It's all from me. Anyways, let's go again!"

Hilarious!

Coronation Street will air with a reduced schedule (from March 30) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
