Coronation Street's James Bailey has got a big week ahead of him: he is finally going to come out as gay to his father Ed, and he is reigniting his relationship with Danny Tomlinson, his former flame who inspired him to come out after he himself told Ed about his sexuality and received a warm reception.
But all that is going to come crashing down, as it looks like Danny could actually dump James next week.

Danny will explain that although James is out to his family, he wants to keep his sexuality on the down-low in general because he doesn't want it to impact his football career, and Danny doesn't ever want to hide his sexuality again (he was previously married to a woman while in the closet).
James will try to protest, and thinks that his dad is to blame, but will he be able to change Danny's mind?
Speaking about Ed's reaction to his son's coming out, actor Trevor Michael Georges said: "Ed is totally blindsided. His immediate reaction is that he is hurt and shocked that he doesn't know his own family.

Coronation Street will air Danny and James' scenes next Monday (February 24) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
