Next week's Coronation Street will see Abi face a potential jail sentence, while Maria comes to a decision about Gary's proposal, and James comes out to Ed.

1. Abi needs an alibi
Having taken revenge against Ray after she discovered he was a sex pest, Abi has found herself in hot water. Ray calls at the garage, revealing that he has reported her to the police for stealing his car and setting it alight.
Fearing the worst, Abi realises she could soon be facing a lengthy jail sentence. Eager to help, Kevin suggests she come up with an alibi and approaches Sally to help. When Sally fails to come through for Abi, Kevin is forced to come up with a plan B and has his own drastic way of saving her.
2. Kevin and Abi finally get together
DC Holden continues to pile the pressure on Abi, and returns later in the week to take Kevin in for further questioning.
When Kevin returns, he tries to lift Abi's spirits by remaining upbeat about the situation. Abi is moved by Kevin's unwavering support, but Sally has had enough of the back and forth between the pair.

3. Sally gives Abi a word of warning
After Abi and Kevin spend the night together, Abi grows concerned about confusing Jack and intends to slip out. However, she's pleased to learn from Kevin that she has Jack's seal of approval.
On the other hand, Sally is less than impressed. She urges Abi not to rush things with Kevin for Jack's sake – and points out that trouble seems to follow Abi around.
It looks like Sally could be right, as Ray spots the loved-up couple together and informs them that new evidence has come to light – that could spell doom for Abi and Kevin's new romance.
4. Gary is waiting on an answer from Maria
Still taken aback by Gary's surprise proposal, Maria is left in a tricky situation after cheating on him with Ali.
She asks Gary for more time to think things through before giving him an answer, and Gary heads to Birmingham for the day. When Ali hears that Gary's out of the picture, he seizes his opportunity to win Maria back.
He begs her to give their relationship another chance, hoping that she feels the same way. Is he about to have his heart broken?
5. Maria makes her choice
Feeling torn, Maria's unsure what to do. She decides to confide in Carla about her fling, and after some soul-searching, realises that she wants to be with Gary and regrets what happened with Ali.
Gary is thrilled when Maria reveals that she wants to marry him, and the happy couple celebrate. With the secret encounter with Ali still under wraps for now, we're readying ourselves for an explosive reveal.
6. Ali puts his heart on the line
It's not long before Maria and Gary decide to share their happy news with the locals – but the reaction isn't quite joyous. Sarah is shocked by the news, while Ali does his best to mask his hurt.
Later, in a last-ditch attempt, Ali begs Maria not to marry Gary, leaving Maria floored once again. Tired of Ali acting like a loose cannon, Maria warns him to stay out of her life once and for all.
7. James and Danny are almost uncovered
James is still reeling from Ed's mate, Danny, turning up on the Street last week – and reveals to Michael that Danny is his ex.
With the tension between the former lovers still simmering, James invites Danny around to an empty house and things soon heat up between the pair.
However, Ed unexpectedly comes home and hears a mysterious noise upstairs. He goes to investigate, and finds James and Danny at the top of the stairs. Excuses at the ready.
8. James comes out to Ed
After his near-miss, James is tired of hiding the truth from his dad and reveals all to Ed over breakfast.
Stunned, Ed tries to take in the news as best he can, but it's clear he's hurt to learn that Aggie and Michael already knew.
Later, Ed vents his frustrations by turning the situation back on Danny, accusing him of 'corrupting' James.
9. Ed tries to come to terms with the news
Deeply worried about Ed's true feelings after his confrontation with Danny, James is feeling low. Meanwhile, Aggie does her best to smooth things over by comforting James and insisting that it has just been a lot for Ed to take in all at once.
Ed apologises to Danny and reveals that his outburst came from a place of fear about the prejudice James may now face in his career because of his sexuality.
Later, James is pleased when he receives a text from Danny wanting to meet, and things are civil at home with Ed. Somehow, we don't think it'll be smooth sailing from here on out.
10. Chesney takes a stand against Freshco
When Tara drops by with plans for the quads' latest photoshoot, Chesney and Gemma realise that it clashes with Aled's hearing appointment. Unsympathetic, Tara makes it clear that if they don't show up, they won't get paid.
However, when Aled's appointment gets rescheduled anyway, they attend the photoshoot. It all gets too much for Gemma, who grows upset when Aled begins to cry.
Having had enough, Chesney takes the mic and blasts Tara for the sham campaign – before pointing out the hard realities of raising the kids. Tara is furious and terminates their contract immediately.
11. Joseph goes missing
After their Freshco shoot disaster, Chesney and Gemma are relieved when they get a call from the hospital, offering a last-minute hearing test appointment for Aled.
Stressed out, Chesney drops Joseph off at sports club, but is horrified when he discovers from Kevin that it's not running. Chesney races back to pick Joseph up, but he's nowhere to be seen. Will he be okay?
12. Gemma is devastated by Aled's diagnosis
Chesney and Gemma's week goes from bad to worse when the audiologist confirms that Aled has profound permanent hearing loss and has been deaf since birth.
The news hits Gemma hard as she realises that Aled has never even heard her tell him she loves him. Chesney promises that they will be able to face any hurdles together but it's clear that Gemma is struggling to process the life-changing news.
13. Fiz plays Jade at her own game
Fiz continues to struggle with Jade's presence in their lives when Jade suggests taking Hope to a craft workshop at the community centre, but has no interest in taking Ruby.
Fiz decides to take Ruby herself, but ends up feeling hurt when Hope makes it clear that she prefers Jade to Fiz.
Later in the week, when the social worker tries to arrange another visit with Jade, Fiz decides she's had enough and lies that they've planned a family holiday. Left with no choice but to follow through, Fiz, Tyrone and the girls head off – and Jade is left seething.
14. Sarah's wedding plans cause tension at the factory
As Sarah looks forward to her big day, she enlists Sally and Izzy's help to complete alterations to her dress. As thanks, they get an invite to the wedding, which puts Beth and Sean's noses out of joint.
Meanwhile, at Oliver's birthday party, Daniel and Bethany's joint appearance causes a bit of a stir. When Adam learns that Sarah has ended up inviting all the factory workers to the wedding after all, he's quick to point out that Beth and Daniel in the same room may not be the best idea. You might want to reconsider that invite, Sarah.
