Coronation Street will see a proposal twist, as Gary Windass wants to marry Maria Connor.
In scenes airing next week, Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) delivers the last of his debt collections, but Gary (Mikey North) has something else he wants from him.
Gary gives Ryan some money and asks that he gets an engagement ring from the jewellers.

Hoping for a surprise proposal, Gary then books Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) in for a manicure, but Maria starts to grow concerned – firstly when Ryan acts suspiciously over a parcel he hands over to Gary, and secondly when Gary and Ike Rodgers (Julian Walsh) have a heated and tense conversation, which ends with Gary giving Ike money.
In the barber shop, Maria later confides in Ali Neeson (James Burrows) and shares her suspicions that Gary is up to no good again.

Ali tells Maria that he still loves her, and Maria and Ali passionately kiss. Maria feels guilty about the kiss afterwards.
Maria decides to confront Gary about what he's been up to, but is shocked when Ryan and Ike back Gary up. They explain that the money Ike received from Gary was a gift and that Ryan's parcel was an engagement ring.
After the confusion is cleared up, the question still remains over whether or not Maria and Gary will get engaged.
Meanwhile, after their kiss, Ali believes that he and Maria are together again. Is he heading for heartbreak?
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Wednesday, February 12 and Friday, February 14 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
