Former Coronation Street star Lucy-Jo Hudson has revealed whether her new baby, which is due in the the new year, is a boy or a girl.

Speaking to OK! magazine, the actress said:"I knew it was a boy from the start! I would have been so surprised if it wasn't.

"My bump is lower with this little one and everything has been so different, with cravings and morning sickness."

The baby will be her first with current partner Lewis Devine and her second overall, after she had daughter Sienna with former Corrie co-star Alan Halsall.

"I would have been happy either way but I'm very excited for a boy, it's a son to carry on the family name," Lewis said.

The actress, who also played Donna-Marie Quinn in Hollyoaks, admitted that co-parenting with her ex can be "difficult" at times.

"I'm happy Sienna has a good male and female role model on my side and with Alan and his girlfriend (Tisha Merry). She has more people to love her, and as long as Sienna's happy, that's all that matters to me."
