Coronation Street has revealed a first look at the moment that Steve McDonald discovers Emma Brooker's connection to Fiona Middleton.
The show has finally confirmed the long-running fan theory that Emma is the daughter of Fiona, who now lives away in Australia.
A new spoiler clip from tonight's Coronation Street double bill (August 14) now sees Steve finally put in the picture when he catches up with Emma at the café.
A grieving Emma (Alexandra Mardell) confides in Steve about the sad death of her father, who has just passed away in hospital.

When Emma then starts complaining about her mum staying away at such a crucial time, she reveals that her name is Fiona Brooker – formerly Fiona Middleton.

Although Steve (Simon Gregson) doesn't think too much of this coincidence, his world is about to be turned upside-down as his mum Liz suddenly demands a word with him.
With a little help from Audrey Roberts, Liz has already made the connection that Steve could be Emma's biological father.
Pulling Steve aside, Liz tells him about the revelation that Emma's dad shared on his deathbed.

Steve ends up confiding in his best friend Tim Metcalfe about how Emma may be his daughter, while Audrey gets angry when she finds out that Liz has been so indiscreet.
Next week's episodes will see Angela Griffin make a brief cameo return as Fiona, who speaks to Emma via an online video call.
