It was set to be a massive day on the Vodafone Big Top 40. Probably one of the busiest shows we've ever had actually.

It started off with a very nice but very strange chat with one of my best friends, Aston Merrygold. Now how does it work when you need to interview someone but you know everything about them?! It was a very strange feeling but was great to see my brother on the chart show releasing his own music!

There was a time during the interview when I changed from interviewing Aston to then thinking we were still in the band and answering questions together, then I had to snap out of it and remember I had to ask him questions for people that don't know him as well as I do!

It was great to see him and his new record 'Get Stupid' is doing so well. If you haven't heard it yet, check out the video here!

It was then all about the top ten downloaded tunes in the UK. My first new entry inside the ten was from three guys who I am a big fan of, Sam Smith and Disclosure (Howard and Guy Lawrence). It's been three years since they released 'Latch' and now the brothers from Surrey have hooked up with one of the biggest artists in the world again, Mr Smith!

'Omen' is the product of that new collab and what a tune! I spoke to Howard on the phone on Sunday and he let me know that naturally there was a bit more pressure when they got back in the room with Sam Smith after both of their massive successes of the past three years, however once they got flowing it was like day one all over again. With the help of the amazing songwriter Jimmy Napes, 'Omen' was born and on Sunday I told Howard that the boys went in at number seven!

My next new entry at number six was Dutch DJ Joe Stone who re-worked the '90s R&B anthem 'This Is How We Do It' by Montell Jordan. Any club I play at the moment this tune is a must. It goes off so I can see why it's done so well, congrats Joe (and Montell again!).

So the big battle at the top this week was between two new entries, one from the mighty One Direction and the other from musically-unknown-yet YouTube star Joe Weller! Joe's tune has come out of nowhere! He has a massive online fanbase, yet no one predicted how well this tune was gonna do and good luck to him cause it's a big house track, I love it and I'm definitely gonna be playing it in Ibiza this weekend! I spoke to Joe on the phone and he was equally baffled as to how well the tune had done and it was lovely to tell him that he was a brand new entry at number two on the Vodafone Big Top 40!

But we had a brand new number one 'Drag Me Down' and it came from the One Direction lads! The first single from the boys from the eagerly awaited new album as a four piece. I caught up with Louis and his words were that he was 'buzzing' to go straight in at number one. He explained it was all a bit of a new sound for them so nothing was guaranteed but the Directioners have stuck by them and have helped them to top the charts once again!

Saturday night I was back on the White Isle of Ibiza doing my Capital FM Saturday Night show live from Café Mambo's Sunset Party, before heading straight to the best club in the world, Pacha, to DJ alongside Idris Elba and Bob Sinclar!

A huge weekend ahead, one tune that I'll definitely be dropping that is going to be a huge hit this year is Wet Dollars by Tazer & Tink. You can check it out on my Summer Mixtape here:
