So Omi made it two weeks at number one with his summer anthem 'Cheerleader', and this week on the Vodafone Big Top 40 it was all about whether he could make it three weeks at the top of our chart. Last weekend he had stiff competition from LunchMoney Lewis with his big tune 'Bills', which charted at number two. But during the week, that very track actually overtook 'Cheerleader' for a couple of days and was sitting pretty at number one - so this week, it was all about whether LunchMoney Lewis could stay there, or whether Omi could make it three weeks in a row.

This weekend also saw a new release from the very lovely Ella Eyre. The Brit and MOBO award winner was my special guest this week and it's always so nice to catch up with her. Last time I saw her was in Dubai at a festival that I was DJ-ing at whilst she was performing - oh, and what a performer she is. This week Ella released her new tune 'Together' - our highest new entry on the chart at number 8. Ella was over the moon after going straight into our top ten just hours after being released.

Ella has just finished touring with Olly Murs, which she said was brilliant. I told her I saw the show and there's no way she's just a 'support' act. She very much is a main event in her own right, and I wish her the very best for what else is to come from her.

Once again the battle for the top spot was between two big summer tunes - one that has already been our number one and one that topped the iTunes chart during the week… so after seven days of to-ing and fro-ing over the top and second spot, the man who won on Sunday evening... yes, you guessed it, it was Omi's 'Cheerleader', which meant that tune has now spent three weeks on top of the Vodafone Big Top 40!

Is anything going to knock him off next weekend? Well, we have some big new releases from Jason Derulo, Taylor Swift and Martin Garrix - who I've just heard is joining me at Capital with a regular show every Friday at midnight - so it's set to be a huge chart yet again this Sunday.

On a personal note, I had a lot of fun this week as it was my little girl's second birthday. On Wednesday, Alaia-Mai had a Frozen-themed birthday party at home. Like most kids around the world, she's obsessed with what is now the most successful animated film of all time.

Rochelle and I are big kids at heart and transformed our back garden into a little Frozen world with themed toys, bouncy castle and the actual characters themselves - needless to say, Alaia had a blast!

After the chart this Sunday, I've got a very busy evening - I'll be DJ-ing on the main stage at Birmingham Pride Festival. It's gonna be a special one because it's a 'Marvin Humes presents LuvBug' event, which means I'll be playing a set based around the sound of my house collective LuvBug - of course dropping our singles 'Resonance' and 'Revive'. What's more, I'll also be doing something special that I've not done before.

Then after Pride I head back down the M6 to Shoreditch where I'll be DJ-ing a hip-hop set at the Red Cup party, which is gonna be a proper vibe! Come down if you fancy any of them - and have a great weekend.

Tune in to Marvin Humes every Monday to Saturday from 7pm, and every Sunday from 4pm on the Vodafone Big Top 40, on Capital, available on 95-106 FM, DAB digital radio, at capitalfm.com and on the Capital app.
