Denise Richards has been granted temporary custody of Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller's twin boys Bob and Max.

The twins were allegedly taken from their mother's home last week amid suspicions that Mueller was abusing prescription drugs, with her attorney later confirming that she is in treatment.

Sheen's former wife Richards she is in treatment, and TMZ reports that a Los Angeles judge affirmed on Tuesday (May 7) that she will retain custody for the time being.

It is not yet clear if Mueller will be granted custody of her sons once again when she finishes her treatment for prescription drug addiction.

Richards previously took care of Bob and Max in December 2012, when Mueller spent time in rehab for addiction to Adderall.

Mueller was released from probation in January, stemming from her 2012 arrest for cocaine possession at a Colorado ski lodge.
