Both TMZ and ET report that the pair broke things off because of their busy work schedules, but they will reportedly remain friends and "love each other dearly."
In a message to fans on her Instagram Story on Thursday, Ariana wrote: "Hi! This is one of my best friends in the whole world and favorite people on the planet Malcolm McCormick.
"I respect and adore him endlessly and am grateful to have him in my life in any form, at all times regardless of how our relationship changes or what the universe holds for each of us!"
"Unconditional love is not selfish. It is wanting the best for that person even if at the moment, it's not you," she continued. "I can't wait to know and support you forever and I'm so proud of you!"
Ariana and Mac went public with their relationship in September 2016, collaborated on the songs 'My Way' and 'My Favorite Part', and were last seen chilling at Coachella.
They join a fleet of other celebrity couples who've broken up recently, including Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik though Cosmopolitan reports they can't seem to stop making out so who KNOWS what's going on there.
