Birds of Prey star Margot Robbie has introduced the world to her new puppy on Instagram.

The actress shared a photo of herself cuddling the latest addition to her family but did not give away the adorable pup's name.

Robbie and her husband director Tom Ackerley are already parents to rescue dog Boo Radley.

After leading Harley Quinn on her own adventure in Birds of Prey, Robbie is reprising the role for the upcoming The Suicide Squad, directed by James Gunn.

Robbie is part of an A-list ensemble cast which also includes John Cena, Idris Elba, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Nathan Fillion, Pete Davidson and Peter Capaldi.

Recently Robbie revealed that the DC movie features "one of the most difficult things" she has ever filmed in her career.

"There's an insane sequence that Harley does which was one of the most difficult things I've ever shot on-screen.

"And we shot it in like four days and I remember looking at the schedule and being like 'Oh my god, we're not going to be able to do this. This is gonna be impossible.'"

Robbie added: "That whole sequence apparently looks really cool, so when you see the movie, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about."

Birds of Prey is in cinemas now, and is available to pre-order on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K.
