Cool Runnings could have some competition in the feel-good-underdog-winter-sports movie genre - the first trailer for the Eddie The Eagle movie is here.

Starring Kingsman: The Secret Service's Taron Egerton as Michael "Eddie The Eagle" Edwards and Hugh Jackman as his coach Chuck Berghorn, this is the latest directorial effort from actor-turned-megaphone wielder Dexter Fletcher.

Of course, Eddie The Eagle is a household name in the UK for his never-say-die attitude towards his beloved sport of ski-jumping - despite not being very good at it... at all.

During the 1988 Olympics in Calgary, he was all the world - okay, the British Isles - was talking about, and this film seeks to capture his indomitable spirit.

The producer behind the project is Matthew Vaughn, who is the man behind not only Kingsman, but also Stardust, Layer Cake and X-Men: First Class.

A new poster has also arrived for the film, which you can check out below:

With a supporting cast including such big names as Jim Broadbent, Christopher Walken and Keith Allen, Eddie The Eagle lands on April 1, 2016.
