Please Don't Feed the Children, the "chilling" horror film starring Michelle Dockery and Giancarlo Esposito, has unveiled its first trailer.

Destry Allyn Spielberg's film is set in a post-apocalyptic world which has been ravaged by a deadly viral outbreak, with the action following a group of orphans who are taken hostage by a mysterious woman (played by Dockery) who harbours a "sinister secret".

The tense trailer outlines some of the context for the world, which saw "parents, teachers and families wiped out" as adults were the only ones to be "infected", leaving the younger generation yearning for a "new life" after being blamed for the outbreak.

As a group of teenagers make a narrow escape from a hostile town, they seek shelter at an isolated house. Despite her initial pleasant demeanour of Dockery's character, it soon becomes apparent that the group face a new battle to survive.

Esposito, best known for his roles in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, portrays a local police sheriff who is seemingly on the trail of the group, with the figure having a tense face-off with Dockery's character.
