The first trailer for On Swift Horses, starring Euphoria's Jacob Elordi and Normal People's Daisy Edgar-Jones, has been unveiled.
Based on the novel by Shannon Pufahl, the upcoming drama centres on newlyweds Muriel (Edgar-Jones) and Lee (Will Poulter), who leave Kansas City to start a new life in San Diego when Lee returns from the Korean War.
However, their newfound stability is upended by the arrival of Lee’s charismatic brother, Julius (Elordi), a wayward gambler with a secret past.

The synopsis continues: "When Julius takes off in search of the young card cheat he’s fallen for, Muriel’s longing for something more propels her into a secret life of her own, gambling on racehorses and exploring a love she never dreamed possible."
The trailer reveals that Muriel and Julius form a connection and keep in touch when Julius heads to Las Vegas, where he soon begins an affair with casino worker Henry (Narcos: Mexico's Diego Calva).

Meanwhile, Muriel embarks on her own journey of self-discovery when she starts gambling at the races and forms a connection with a woman she meets there.
"You’re new at this, aren’t you?" the woman asks Muriel, as the trailer cuts to the pair sharing a brief kiss. "It’s all luck. We’re all just a hair’s breadth from losing everything."

Muriel also forms romantic a connection with her new neighbour Sandra (The Flash’s Sasha Calle), with the pair kissing passionately after agreeing that neither one are "afraid of being alone".
On Swift Horses is directed by Daniel Minahan from a script penned by Bryce Kass. The film will arrive in US cinemas on April 25.
A UK release date is yet to be confirmed for the movie.
