Mickey 17 was one of our most-anticipated movies of this year before it got delayed, but we're finally getting to see more of the movie.

Warner Bros has unveiled the first trailer for Bong Joon-ho's sci-fi film, featuring multiple Robert Pattinsons having an existential crisis in space.

In addition to checking out the full trailer above, you can watch a special teaser below that was the first footage officially released from Mickey 17.

If you're confused why the Mickey 17 teaser ends with Steven Yeun's character Berto telling Robert Pattinson's Mickey to "have a nice death", then let us explain what the movie is all about.

Based on Edward Ashton's novel Mickey 7, the movie sees Pattinson play an "expendable" known as Mickey 17. He's a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonise the ice world Niflheim.

What to Read Next

Mickey 17's job is to undertake all the most dangerous elements of the mission and if he dies while doing so (as expected), a new body is regenerated with most of his memories still intact.

However, an incident in the mission soon leads to the accidental creation of a new Mickey when the previous iteration hadn't actually died. Awkward.

Mickey 17, which also stars Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo, was originally set for release in March 2024 before being indefinitely delayed after the 2023 strikes affected production.

Luckily, it will now come our way early next year as Warner Bros confirmed a January 31, 2025 release date earlier this year.

It marks Bong Joon-ho's first movie since the huge success of Parasite which grossed more than $260 million worldwide and won four Oscars, including Best Picture.

Mickey 17 is released in cinemas on January 31, 2025.
