Johnny Depp will be disappearing into his next role as he plays The Invisible Man on the big screen.

The film is the latest adaptation of HG Wells's 1897 sci-fi novella following a scientist who finds a way of becoming invisible - but in doing so, becomes murderously insane.

News of Depp's casting was first reported by Deadline.

There's no director or writer attached as yet, but it's being produced by Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan for Universal's new classic monster movie universe
