Keanu Reeves has provided an update on the long-awaited Constantine sequel, teasing a "tortured" John Constantine.
Loosely based on DC's Hellblazer comics, the 2005 thriller followed John Constantine, a cynical exorcist with the ability to travel to hell and back, and perceive the true appearance of half-angels and half-demons.
In 2022, it was announced that a sequel to the cult classic was in the works, with lead actor Reeves and director Francis Lawrence returning for the project. Since then, details regarding Constantine 2 have been scarce, but Reeves has now revealed that progress is being made on the movie.

Meanwhile, director Lawrence recently provided his own update on the project, telling Collider: "I will say we are closer than ever to being able to do a sequel, which is a great thing."
"We have a great idea. We have gone through a bunch of the comics over the years and looked at things
"I will say that there's probably grains from things that we're pulling, but in truth, most of it is just coming from the three of us [himself, Reeves and producer Akiva Goldsman], you know, loving the character, loving the world, having it sort of in the back of our minds for 20 years and just kind of percolating on ideas, and stories and characters we love, and ideas we love."
There is currently no release date for the Constantine sequel.
