Kingsman star Taron Egerton has lined up his next lead movie role in action thriller Carry On for Netflix.
Variety reports that the streaming service has teamed with Steven Spielberg's Amblin Partners for Carry On, which will be the first film made as part of a production deal between the two companies that was announced last year.
Carry On follows Ethan Kopek, a young TSA agent who gets blackmailed by a mysterious traveller to let a dangerous package slip through security and onto a Christmas Day flight.
It will be directed by Jungle Cruise's Jaume Collet-Serra from a script by TJ Fixman, with additional writing by Michael Green.
Carry On had reportedly been eyed as a potential project for several months, but Netflix and Amblin Partners were looking for the right actor to lead.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, Egerton revealed why he turned down playing Cyclops in Fox's X-Men prequel films.

"I don't mind saying, that was a real thing. That was a real conversation," he explained. "And, to be honest, I've never said this actually, the reason that conversation never went any further is because I didn't want to play a character for a potential series of movies where you don't see my eyes.
"For me, that – I felt instinctively and creatively that the eyes are the windows to the soul. I don't know how, I would find that challenging, and I just didn't find it an intriguing prospect.
"So it's not that they ever offered it to me, but there was a conversation. A real conversation that never went any further."
Kingsman: The Secret Service, Kingsman: The Golden Circle and The King's Man are available to watch on Disney+.
