Taron Egerton's upcoming Apple TV+ series Firebug has added four new cast members, including the actor's Black Bird co-star Greg Kinnear.

According to Variety, Greg has joined the new crime drama's cast alongside Trying's Rafe Spall, The Purge's Hannah Emily Anderson and The Lincoln Lawyer's Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine.

Greg previously worked with Taron on Apple TV+'s hit limited series Black Bird, which earned Taron both Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for his leading role as Jimmy Keene.

Loosely inspired by true events, Firebug is set to star Taron and previously announced cast member Jurnee Smollett (Lovecraft Country) as an arson investigator and "a rising star detective" who pursue two serial arsonists.

Dennis Lehane has written the script and will also serve as an executive producer alongside Taron. Further plot details and characters are yet to be announced.

Taron will next appear in the upcoming Netflix thriller Carry-On, which debuted a first look earlier this year in the streamer’s preview trailer for 2024.

The actor is set to star as a young TSA agent named Ethan Kopek, who "gets blackmailed by a mysterious traveller (Ozark's Jason Bateman) to let a dangerous package slip through security and onto a Christmas Day flight".

The upcoming film is directed by Jungle Cruise's Jaume Collet-Serra from a script written by T.J. Fixman.

Elsewhere, Taron shared a promising update on the third Kingsman movie last year, saying: "[Matthew Vaughn] has every intention of making it, and I have every intention of playing Eggsy one more time. That was always what I thought I was committed to doing. It's the role that made my name, so I suppose, in a way, I just want it to be absolutely right if we do it again, and I want the story to do justice to the part that really changed my life."

Firebug is yet to receive a release window.
