The King's Man teased as franchise's "origin story" in new teaser

A new teaser trailer for Kingsman prequel The King's Man has landed, showing that the film will explore the organisation's "bloody" origin.

Set during World War 1, the new movie charts the origins of the Kingsman secret service as an experienced agent (Ralph Fiennes) and his new recruit (Harris Dickinson) attempt to stop history's worst tyrants bringing an end to humanity.

Alongside Fiennes and Dickinson, the film also stars Gemma Arterton, Matthew Goode, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Charles Dance, Rhys Ifans, Tom Hollander, Djimon Hounsou, Stanley Tucci and Daniel Brühl.

In the new trailer, director Matthew Vaughn explains: "This movie is really an origin story. This is the foundation of the Kingsman franchise."

Previously, Vaughn teased that the prequel will sow the "seeds" for Kingsman 3.

"We've put seeds for what's going to happen in Kingsman 3 all the way back into this," he told Empire. "And it's going to be very different."

The King's Man is set for release on December 22, 2021.
