"We've decided to save some of our most eagerly-awaited future titles for gamescom in August," Xbox head Phil Spencer said on Xbox Wire.

"Rest assured that titles like Crackdown, Quantum Break and Scalebound will be front and centre at gamescom along with new game reveals for both Xbox One and Windows 10."

Spencer also said he believes this year boasts the greatest lineup of games in Xbox console history, with titles like Halo 5: Guardians, Forza Motorsport 6 and Rise of the Tomb Raider on the way.

Microsoft recently announced a partnership with Oculus VR, under which Oculus Rift users will get to play games with an Xbox One controller, as well as stream Xbox One games to the virtual reality headset via Windows 10.
