Dying Light developer Techland is gearing up for a big announcement at gamescom.

Techland will unveil its first major Dying Light expansion during behind-closed-doors preview sessions at the event in Germany.

Our Dying Light review: Dead Island improved, but not perfected

Described as Dying Light from a "totally new angle", the content will be unveiled to the public shortly after.

"We're really excited to finally be able to show this major project we've been secretly working on since the release of the game," said Dying Light producer Tymon Smektala.

"This is Dying Light from a totally new angle, but with everything fans love about the original still at the core."

The end of the video (2:07) shows what appears to be two new characters, a new area and a vehicle.

Dying Light launched on PS4, Xbox One and PC in January.

The game takes place in an open-world environment and features a free-running gameplay mechanic.
