It looks like new character Linkle won't be forever bound to Hyrule Warriors: Legends.

The female counterpart of The Legend of Zelda's Link could appear in future games in the series, according to Nintendo producer Eiji Aonuma.

"I'm sure we will keep her in mind when thinking about future titles," Aonuma told IGN.

"It may feel a little different from other titles in the franchise, but she doesn't feel out of place at all in the world of the Zelda games."

Linkle will be introduced in Hyrule Warriors: Legends as a girl who wields two crossbows and lives in a small village filled with Cuccos.

The upcoming game is set to launch on March 25 for Nintendo 3DS. It will also be available as part of a limited-edition bundle that includes a compass watch and a copy of the game.
