A new trailer for Doom's multiplayer mode has been released, showing all the quick action, rocket launchers, ultra-violence and demons you would expect from id Software's classic series.

Oh, also you get to be a demon if you collect the right power-up. Check it out:

The announcer does sound rather bored by all of the carnage around him, mind you. Bloody computers, with their lack of emotions.

Bethesda, Doom's publisher, has also clarified dates for the game's closed beta, which will be running from March 31 to April 3 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Anyone who bought a new copy of Wolfenstein: The New Order and redeemed the included Doom beta code will have access.

If you haven't yet redeemed your code, go here to do so.

Doom releases on May 13 on the same formats as it has a beta on, and you'll be able to pick up a 12-inch Revenant statue-sporting collector's edition on release if you want to part with £100.

While you wait for the beta to kick off, check out everything we know about Doom so far, including some things about Bruce Lee on a skateboard with a shotgun. No, really.
