Just as the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 launched without the single-player component, Activision is now letting PC players download the game's multiplayer portion on its own for a discounted price.
Available on PC-only for £11.59, the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Starter Pack allows users to compete in Public Ranked Multiplayer matches and access features including Weapon Paint Shop, Gunsmith, Arena, Freerun, Theater, and the Black Market.
The features you won't have access to are as follows:
- Zombies game mode
- Campaign game mode
- Ability to play in Multiplayer custom games
- Ability to Prestige (your level will be capped at 55 in the Starter Pack)
- Access to mod tools or modded content (once released)
- Access to unranked server browser (once released)
- Ability to Fresh Start your profile
- The ability to access Dead Ops Arcade II and Nightmares mode
This pack is only available for a limited time - until February 29 - and perhaps hints at Activision testing the waters for future buying options on its forthcoming games.
If you do buy the Starter Pack and decide later to upgrade to the full game, the price of the Starter Pack will be discounted from the complete version.
