Supergirl will soar again this fall with a full season order from CBS.
CBS has selected the DC Comics adaptation from Arrow and The Flash producer Greg Berlanti and Family Guy's Allison Adler as its first drama pilot order of the season.
Former Glee star Melissa Benoist will play Kara Zor-El, a Kryptonian refugee who embraces her powers after a lifetime of hiding on earth.
Her civilian alter-ego Kara Danvers works at media conglomerate CatCo alongside charming photographer Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks).
Supergirl will also feature several DC Comics characters, including government agent Hank Henshaw (David Harewood), Kara's boss Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart), the alien convict Vartox (Owain Yeoman) and the Toyman (Jeremy Jordan).
The series will also follow The Flash in winking at its on-screen history with guest appearances from Supergirl movie star Helen Slater and Lois and Clark's Dean Cain.
Producers have already hinted that a crossover with Arrow and The Flash is possible.
