The new Supergirl TV series is to feature two alumni of the Superman universe.
According to TVLine, Dean Cain - who starred as the Man of Steel in Lois & Clarke: The New Adventures of Superman - has signed up for a guest role on the CBS series, as has Helen Slater, who played the lead role in 1984 movie Supergirl.
Both have already guest-starred in Smallville - Slater as Clark/Kal-El's Krypton mom Lara, and Cain as the immortal Dr Curtis Knox.
The roles both will play are being kept secret ahead of the pilot.
CBS's show will see Melissa Benoist play lead Kara Zor-El, who has spent her life hiding her superhuman skills before embracing them.
Benoist has described her portrayal in the show as that of a "relatable hero".
