The much-anticipated upcoming Supergirl movie Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has found its screenwriter in Ana Nogueira.
Announced as part of the James Gunn and Peter Safran studio rebuild earlier this year, the DC movie will adapt the comic book series Woman of Tomorrow, which was first published in 2021.
Gunn himself revealed Nogueira's involvement on Instagram on Tuesday (November 14), writing: "A hearty public welcome to Ana Nogueira to the DC Studios family. Ana is an amazing writer whose screenplay adaptation of Woman of Tomorrow is above and beyond anything I hoped it would be.

"We're excited to be moving forward on this unique take on Supergirl in this beautiful, star-spanning tale."
Nogueira is probably best known for her acting roles in the likes of The Vampire Diaries as Penny Ares and The Blacklist as Lena Mercer.
As for the storyline she's working on now? The upcoming Supergirl movie sees Kara Zor-El wreaking vengeance on planet-destroying aliens.
"Superman is a guy sent to Earth and raised by loving parents, where Supergirl in this story, she is a character raised on a chunk of Krypton," Gunn previously explained on X, formely known as Twitter.
"She watched everybody around her perish in some terrible way, so she's a much more jaded character."

It's a busy time for the studio's co-CEO right now, what with Superman: Legacy at the forefront of his mind.
Posting on social media in light of the SAG-AFTRA and WGA contract agreements, Gunn recently wrote: "Thanks to the efforts of our talented crew, who never lost faith during the longest strikes in Hollywood history, and who never let their foot off the pedal, continuing to barrel forward, creating the most amazing character and set designs I've seen in my entire career, #SupermanLegacy will be making the originally planned release date of July 11, 2025."
