While the DC movie universe stumbles, the TV universe goes from strength to strength and the comics giant will soon launch its own streaming service with a whole host of new shows.
That's alongside The CW's well-established Arrowverse which currently features five shows –with two more on the way – and The CW's president Mark Pedowitz doesn't expect them to end anytime soon.
"Shows do eventually end, we have no plans yet to end one or any of them," he explained. "We'll see where we come out as the season goes on."
Even the most diehard DC fan could struggle to keep up with all of the shows and what's happening with them, so we thought we'd round all of the current DC offerings and planned shows into one place because we're nice like that.
The CW
- The Flash – season 5 premiering on October 9
- Black Lightning – season 2 premiering on October 9
- Supergirl – season 4 premiering on October 14
- Arrow – season 7 premiering on October 15
- Legends of Tomorrow – season 4 premiering on October 22
- Batwoman – Ruby Rose has been cast and will make her Arrowverse debut in this year's crossover in December, with her own show set to follow in 2019
- Project 13 – a show based on mystical character Traci Thirteen is currently in development at The CW with executive producer Elizabeth Banks
DC Universe
- Titans – no official release date, but the first DC Universe show is expected to launch in 2018
- Doom Patrol – Titans spin-off will star the likes of Joivan Wade and Diane Guerrero, set to premiere in 2019
- Swamp Thing – Aquaman director James Wan is producing the live-action series, set to premiere in 2019
- Stargirl – former DC Entertainment boss Geoff Johns will write and executive produce the adaptation of his own character, no confirmed release date
- Metropolis – Superman prequel will pair up Lex Luthor and Lois Lane as an investigative duo and has been delayed in favour of Swamp Thing
Other networks
- Gotham – season 5 will be the final season and it will arrive on Fox in 2019
- Krypton – renewed for season 2 which will likely air on Syfy in early 2019
- Pennyworth – prequel series on EPIX will follow Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred when he worked for Thomas Wayne, but it won't be connected to Gotham and there is no confirmed release date yet
- Watchmen – HBO has ordered a pilot episode from Lost's Damon Lindelof which we'll likely see in early 2019
DC Imprints
- iZombie – renewed for season 5 which will be the final season and it will arrive in early 2019
- Preacher – no news yet on a potential season 4, with season 3 ending on August 26, 2018
- Lucifer – rescued by Netflix after Fox axed it, with season 4 set to arrive in early 2019
- Y: The Last Man – Diane Lane has been cast alongside Barry Keoghan and Imogen Poots in FX's long-gestating pilot based on Brian K Vaughan's series, no confirmed release date
- Astro City – American Gods studio FremantleMedia North America picked up the rights to the comic book series in March 2018 and is developing a pilot with no confirmed release date
- V For Vendetta – Channel 4 is currently working on a new adaptation of the 1980s series by Alan Moore and David Lloyd
Animation
- Teen Titans Go! – Cartoon Network are currently airing season 5 which picks up after the movie outing Teen Titans Go! To the Movies
- Justice League Action – no news yet on a possible season 2
- Young Justice – renewed for season 3 which will air on the DC Universe service in early 2019
- DC Super Hero Girls – following a short which played ahead of Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, DC Super Hero Girls will air on Cartoon Network in late 2018
- Freedom Fighters: The Ray – no news yet on a potential season 3 after season 2 premiered on July 18, 2018 on The CW's online streaming platform, CW Seed
- Constantine: City of Demons – no news yet on a potential season 2 of the CW Seed series
- Harley Quinn – the new adult-oriented series is being developed for the DC Universe service, with no confirmed release date
