The animated CW series will consist of five or six 10-minute episodes that will premiere during the 2017-18 TV season.
Constantine charts the chaotic life of occult detective John Constantine, who struggles with his faith as he is haunted by the sins of his past - a task made only more complicated when he's thrust into the role of defending humanity from some super dark forces.
Matt Ryan previously featured as Constantine on The CW when he appeared on Arrow during the show's fourth season, with the crossover storyline reportedly being pitched by Arrow star Stephen Amell as a way to convince NBC to renew Constantine.
Co-creator and executive producer of the original NBC series, David S. Goyer, is also on board for the new online animated series, while Ryan will also be reprising his role as the demon-hunting detective in the upcoming DC Animation feature Justice League Dark.
Constantine will air on CW Seed in 2017.
