Hugh Laurie's beloved medical drama is currently really popular with viewers on Prime Video in the UK.

House stars Laurie as the titular character Gregory House, a cynical but brilliant doctor struggling with a crippling addiction.

Though his medical expertise is renowned, House's unconventional practices and disregard for the rules often cause clashes with his colleagues at Princeton–Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.

The series aired a total of 177 episodes from 2004 to 2012, and is still hugely popular among audiences today.

All eight seasons are currently available to binge on Amazon's streaming service in the UK. Meanwhile, Netflix also added the hit show to its library back in April.

Once branded "one of the ten best shows on television" by IGN Movies, House has an 89% critics' rating from 78 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

The reviews for season 5 praised Laurie for his long-running performance as the brazen doctor, with The Newark Star-Ledger writing: "House is Hugh Laurie. So long as he's around, the show will be eminently watchable."

"Each time you think you know how House will react, Laurie and the writers take you to a deeper level - just as each time House thinks he's prepared for the worst, the even worse arrives," said USA Today.

"The show has set almost impossibly high standards. It's never not watchable," wrote The Chicago Tribune.

The Orlando Sentinel added: "Laurie makes you care about Dr. Gregory House, that nasty, condescending genius - no easy acting feat."

All eight seasons of House are available to stream on Prime Video and Netflix.
