Reacher has confirmed a casting replacement for its fourth season following the early exit of one of its stars.

As per Deadline, Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette has replaced Jay Baruchel as small-town police officer Jay Merrick, who is said to have a substantial role in the upcoming season of Prime Video's action series.

Baruchel, known for BlackBerry and his voice role as Hiccup in the How to Train Your Dragon series, was cast earlier this month but has reportedly left the project due to a personal matter.

Rodriguez-Marquette, whose recent credits include Barry and RZR, will join the previously announced Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, Anggun, Kevin Corrigan, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas and Kathleen Robertson as the new additions to the series.

The fourth season, based on Lee Child's 2009 novel Gone Tomorrow, was greenlit by Amazon MGM Studios before the third season had even aired, with Vernon Sanders - head of television at the company - confirming the announcement in a statement.
