Grey's Anatomy star Jessica Capshaw has revealed that she auditioned for season three of The White Lotus.
The hit HBO series returned to our screens this year, as a host of new faces prepared for an unforgettable holiday. Among the hotel guests were childhood friends Jaclyn, Laurie and Kate, whose fun girls' trip quickly revealed the cracks in their relationship.
In a recent episode of her Call It What It Is podcast, Capshaw revealed that she had auditioned to play Kate before the role ultimately went to Leslie Bibb.
"I auditioned for one of those parts. I auditioned for Leslie Bibb's part. And I remember getting the audition and being like — I mean, I'm just such a huge fan of the show — so I was giddy with excitement," Capshaw told co-host and former Grey's co-star Camilla Luddington.
"And it's always so fun to, you know, to put together an audition and see where it goes and then see it come to fruition."

The star praised Bibb's portrayal of the character, explaining that each actor would have a unique take on the role.
"What's unbelievably remarkable and wild about the casting process is, and I guess not shocking, we're all very different. We all have a very different take on it. So watching Leslie, I was like, 'Oh my God!' I was so in, and I thought she was fantastic."

Though she didn't land a part this season, Capshaw joked that she would "just keep auditioning" as "that's what [she] did for Grey's."
The actor recalled auditioning three times before she was cast on the medical drama as Arizona Robbins. She explained her dedication to the process: "I loved Grey's Anatomy, and I was like, 'I'll audition all the times.'"
"I'm hoping it'll just take two for [creator] Mike White and The White Lotus," Capshaw added. "I'll just keep going."
