Jenna Ortega has recalled the moment Lady Gaga arrived on the set of Wednesday, describing it as "unbelievably cool".
Netflix's supernatural mystery-comedy, a spin-off of The Addams Family, is due to return later this year with its second season, continuing the story of Wednesday Addams (Ortega) as she attends Nevermore Academy.
Whilst plot details on the follow-up have been kept under wraps, it was announced in November that Gaga had joined the show for its second season, though the nature of her role has remained undisclosed.
Whilst Gaga's character remains a mystery, Ortega - who has also appeared in the Scream franchise - has shared details about her co-star's arrival during filming, admitting that she was surprised that the singer "showed up".
"She's so unbelievably cool," Ortega told Film Updates. "How she still does it, I don't know. We couldn't believe that she actually showed up, even on the day. I think it was a surreal feeling. But she is such a sweetheart - she's so kind and just an absolutely lovely presence to be around.

"And obviously, she's so immensely talented. [Director] Tim [Burton] and I really had a great time getting to know her. It kind of felt like a pipe dream. We didn't really think that something like that could ever happen, so we were just very grateful and appreciative. We love her."
Ortega, who will soon be seen on the big screen in Death of a Unicorn, recently teased details of Wednesday's second season, explaining that horror films such as Carrie and Prom Night had influenced a special, slasher-themed episode.

"Visually, I can say we have some of the most fun we've ever had," said the actor, who also serves as a producer on the show. "There is a frame of Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez) rolling his eyes back with this contraption around his head...
"It's insane. So bizarre... There's a whole episode based off of slashers, and we make a lot of horror references... I feel like we kind of had a little bit more trust, and therefore, we felt like we could do bigger, more elaborate sequences, which is nice."
Wednesday streams on Netflix. Season 2 is in production.
