Yellowjackets season two spoilers to follow.

Yellowjackets actor Christina Ricci has teased what fans can expect from the upcoming third season.

The dramatic finale to season two saw her character, Misty Quigley, accidentally cause the death of her friend Natalie Scatorccio.

Season three is set to follow on from those heartbreaking events when it airs on one of the top streaming services, Paramount+.

Ricci's revealed Misty will be in for an "emotional" journey when the hit drama returns.

Speaking exclusively with Digital Spy, the actor explained Misty will be facing a challenging time as she deals with the distress of losing Natalie.

"Obviously at the end of season two, she had just caused Natalie's death – her best friend," Ricci said.

"So, I would imagine it's going to be a bit of an emotional and sort of unhappy beginning of the season, at least for Misty."

However, the actor explained much of the show’s mysterious plot is kept secret ahead of filming.

"I really don't know that much," Ricci said. "Working on the show, we kind of find out just a little bit before we film. So, I actually don't really know exactly what's in store for Misty."

As a result, Ricci and her co-stars often feel a wave of excitement when they do eventually receive their scripts.

"Everybody on the cast, the second we get the scripts we immediately read them," she remarked. "No matter where I am I'll pick it up and scan.

"It's fun to be involved in something that people in general are curious and fascinated by."

While Ricci's fans eagerly await the next season of Yellowjackets, they can catch her in a surprising role alongside the likes of Chris Hemsworth and Will Arnett.

She recently starred in a hilarious new trailer for Supercell's party action mobile game, Squad Busters.

The commercial sees Ricci, Hemsworth, Arnett, Ken Jeong and Auli'i Cravalho play live-action versions of the characters from the game.

Describing how much fun she had working on the comical new ad, Ricci enthused: "We just cracked up the entire three days [of filming]."

Yellowjackets airs on Showtime in the US and Paramount+ in the UK.

Squad Busters is available for download now for fans across the world with iOS and Android devices.
