Netflix has announced a new Grey's Anatomy-style show starring Justina Machado.
According to Deadline, the streaming platform has commissioned its first original medical procedural series titled Pulse, with production slated to begin in March in Albuquerque.
The new series has been created by The Equaliser's Zoe Robyn, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Lost's Carlton Cuse.

Set in Miami's busiest Level 1 Trauma Center, Pulse will follow a similar formula to Grey's Anatomy, mixing the staff's response to medical emergencies with the drama in their personal and private lives.
Machado will star as Natalie Cruz, "a brilliant and politically-savvy doctor, who oversees both administration and medicine in her role as the Chair of Surgery and Emergency Medicine".
Netflix has been looking to add more procedurals to its library following the success of acquired series such as NCIS, Grey's Anatomy, Suits and legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer, which started life at CBS before it was taken on by the streaming service.

The series marks the first creator, executive producer and showrunner credit for Robyn, who has also worked as a staff writer on CBS show Hawaii Five-0.
In other Netflix procedural news, The Lincoln Lawyer recently announced several new cast members who will be joining the show for its third season.
Based on Michael Connelly's novels, series three of The Lincoln Lawyer sees Manuel Garcia-Rulfo return to the role of defence attorney Mickey Haller, alongside four new names.
