Following a successful first service to friends and family at the newly reopened restaurant, viewers saw things sadly fall apart behind the pass.

Head chef Carmy found himself stuck in the kitchen's walk-in freezer, spiralling into an anxiety attack which eventually manifested into a blazing row with 'cousin' Ritchie.

Further heartache followed when Carmy's girlfriend Claire (Molly Gordon) goes to congratulate her beau for a triumphant first night of service.

Carmy - still stuck in the freezer - begins voicing his insecurities about his new romance out loud, believing Tina (Liza Colón-Zayas) is on the other side of the door. Low and beholdit's Claire who is present to the confession, who leaves abruptly, suggesting the end of their relationship.

Gordon wasn't the only new addition to season 2, with the series also featuring a number of high-profile guest stars. Jamie Lee Curtis appeared as Carmy's mother Donna Berzatto, with actors Olivia Colman, Sarah Paulson and Will Poulter also appearing in one-off episodes.

There's been no confirmation on whether any of these guest stars will return for a third series, but FX's statement suggests key cast members Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach will be back for season 3.

The Bear season one and two are currently available to stream on Disney+.
