Netflix's The Sandman recently dropped its two-part bonus episode, diverting from the main storyline to bring fans something a little different.
One of the parts, 'Dream of a Thousand Cats', has a star-studded line-up of actors providing voices for the various felines sharing their stories of Morpheus' life.
But that's not the only fun piece of trivia regarding the segment, as it also featured an epitaph for the actual father of director Hisko Hulsing.
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Hulsing explained how that came about and why it meant so much to him.

"The prophet is delivering her speech in a graveyard and the showrunners provided us with a whole list of names to be put on all the painted tombstones," he stated.
"I always regretted that we didn't grant my father's request. He liked a drink or two and he devised his own epitaph: 'Here lies Frank — because he drank'.
"I always found that extremely funny, but we decided to go for a more neutral epitaph, 25 years ago. But now Frank Hulsing has a new tombstone. In The Sandman! I am glad that my mother, my brother and Warner Bros all gave me the permission to do so."

Hulsing also delved into the challenges of making the episode, explaining that he was super worried about the animation of the cats since filming real-life footage of cats for reference has been a nightmare for him before, but he was introduced to a London-based studio that had created naturalistic animation he was very impressed with.

He also talked about the difficulty of having to co-ordinate the production between countries, all while helming the season season of a show called Undone, stating: "'A Dream of a Thousand Cats' is a mix of techniques, it's oil paintings, combined with traditional 2D animation, 3D animation and live action.
"All files had to be send back and forth between London and Amsterdam and because of the immense technical complexity of what we were doing, making this all work was very, very difficult."
The Sandman season 1 is streaming on Netflix.
