Netflix's The Umbrella Academy is getting a fourth – and final – season.
Focussed on the dysfunctional, super-powered Hargreeves family, the hit show's fate was confirmed by showrunner Steve Blackman through social media.
"I'm so excited that the incredibly loyal fans of The Umbrella Academy will be able to experience the fitting end to the Hargreeves siblings' journey we began five years ago," he said.

"But before we get to that conclusion, we've got an amazing story ahead for season four, one that will have fans on the edge of their seats until the final minutes."

For the final hurrah, cast members such as Elliott Page (Viktor), Robert Sheehan (Klaus), Tom Hopper (Luther), David Castañeda (Diego), Aidan Gallagher (Five), Emmy Raver-Lampman (Allison), Ritu Arya (Lila) and Colm Feore (Sir Reginald) will all return.

In June, Blackman addressed his hopes for the future of The Umbrella Academy, saying that one more season would be a fitting end.
"I think at a certain point, I'm not sure where we'd go after season 4. My plan for next year is not to continually tread on the same ground we have before. It's a challenge to come up with a new way to subvert this storyline, and I think we have an idea how to do that," he shared.
"I'm not saying I couldn't do more, but you know, I think that would be very satisfying for the audience, four seasons."
The Umbrella Academy seasons 1-3 are now streaming on Netflix, with a fourth now officially in development.
