The Umbrella Academy actor Tom Hopper says filming the cast's final scene together was "definitely emotional."

"That [took place] in the middle of the night," Hopper told Digital Spy, referring to the scene in which the Hargreeves sacrificed themselves to reset the timeline and stave off another apocalypse.

"We shot it in studio, but we'd pushed hours through the week, so we were actually shooting that at four in the morning.

"It was definitely emotional," he went on to say, "but I think all of us were so knackered at the end of the shooting that we were all kind of like, 'let's just go home to bed', so it hasn't really hit me yet. That kind of end of the era feeling."

The actor who plays Luther Hargreeves added:

"But I really loved looking into all these guys' eyes as we were shooting that [scene]. There was a personal aspect to it. Us as actors, as well as the lines. I said, 'I'm really gonna miss you guys,' [and] that rings true for me as Tom."

"Our essences kind of live on in a way. I don't know if you can get into the religiousness of it all, but there was an air of reincarnation."
