Netflix has just dropped 10 episodes of The Sandman, containing plenty of Neil Gaiman's out-there goodness. And while streaming services aren't dictated by timeslots and ad breaks, scenes still end up on the cutting room floor.

However, some footage that was intended for the season but for whatever reason was cut – potentially for a release further down the line? – accidentally ended up online.

Footage from an animated version of Gaiman's story 'A Dream of a Thousand Cats' and a live-action version of 'Calliope' were included in the latest instalment of 'I Like to Watch', Netflix's YouTube series in which RuPaul's Drag Race favourite Trixie and Katya do a Gogglebox and react to the latest shows and movies.

In the episode, which has now been made private, the duo joked about how the cast of the Cats movie might appear at any time during the animated sequence, and that it's "very lesbian".

Reacting to 'Calliope', they referred to the titular character as Drag Race season 13's Kandy Muse, and called The Sandman in general "probably the best-looking thing we've watched" across all of I Like to Watch.

Fans on social media are convinced that two bonus episodes are imminent, and now the existence of these scenes is out there, maybe Netflix will be inspired to release them sooner?

While Netflix's version of The Sandman has been praised by fans and critics, some viewers were confused by the show's aspect ratio. A spokesperson for the streaming service had to explain that it was a deliberate choice to get across the dreamlike tone.

The Sandman season 1 is streaming on Netflix.
