The Sandman spoilers follow.

Netflix's The Sandman has dropped its first season, following the story of Morpheus as he tries to get his kingdom of the Dreaming back into shape after over 100 years of being stuck in prison.

Across the 10 episodes, we have been introduced to many characters played by a host of familiar faces, but fans who have read the source material – and those paying close attention to the show – will know that we haven't met all of the Endless siblings yet.

Digital Spy spoke to the cast and creator Neil Gaiman about what we might expect in the show's future, and when we might see the remaining Endless siblings. Thankfully, the wait may not be that long.

"If we do a season 2, you will see more [of the family]," Gaiman told us. "Hopefully, by the end of season 2, you will have encountered the whole family."

What to Read Next

One thing that happens later on in the comics is that Rose loses the ability to love after giving her heart to her grandmother. It's something that has the potential to be very powerful viewing, but Rose actress Vanesu Samunyai has admitted that she hopes the show doesn't actually go down the route.

"I don't think I could say much about this because it is about future seasons. I mean, I will say: I haven't gotten to read [that part yet]," Samunyai said, having only started the comics following her audition.

"I know that it happens but I haven't gotten to read that for myself. So I don't know how that impacts Rose. From a selfish perspective, I hope she doesn't.

"I hope they'll somehow work around it... she's back with Jed and her mum in the comics. We did go a different route. So she doesn't have that kind of emptiness at the end of season 1. So I think it probably would be a bit different. But at the same time, you know, it did give something extra for her character to go through and work through."

Meanwhile, Morpheus actor Tom Sturridge added that his character "should watch [his] back" now that Lucifer has got him in her sights, and Boyd Holbrook teased we may not have seen the last of The Corinthian.

"Is he ever gone? Is anything ever gone? You know, as you were talking about the comic-books – the comic-books go on and on. He's reincarnated later on as a different entity, as a good guy. So I think that's something really fun to play with, to already know him as this dark entity, and to see what a lighter entity of The Corinthian would look like."

The Sandman season 1 is streaming on Netflix.
