Ozark spoilers follow.
Fans may have had to bid one final goodbye to the Byrd family during Ozark's season four finale – but it appears they might not have to say farewell to the world at large forever.
Showrunner Chris Mundy recently spoke to TVLine about his future plans for the series, noting that the show was very much still in demand.

It seems fans' wishes may have reached the ears of Netflix, because Mundy admitted that talks were already taking place behind the scenes about potential spin-offs.

"It's definitely something that people have talked about a bunch," Mundy said. "There's nothing definitive. We're lucky that people seem to really like the show so there's obviously going to be some interest there."
Prior to the show's finale twist that saw one of its beloved main characters killed off in the episode's final moments, fans had been hoping Julia Garner – aka the late Ruth – would have been headlining any future spin-off series.
"There are still ways to stay inside the show and revisit things," Mundy insisted.
The showrunner had previously admitted that Ruth's death had divided the writers room, saying: "Half of the writers, or maybe a little under half, felt that there was something nice to knowing that Ruth would be out there in the world and doing well."

But, for the time being, the writers and showrunners had been focused on giving the show the ending it deserved before venturing into any future projects – whether in the Ozark world or away from it.
Mundy added: "It was really important for me to end this show. This is the work we did, we did our best and we hope people like it.
"And then anything that spins off from it would be its own distinct thing, even though it's in our universe."
Ozark is available now on Netflix.
