Snowfall spoilers follow from the start.

Snowfall season 5 premiere's shocking demise of White Rob has been addressed by the man who played him, Taylor Kowalski.

But first, here's how it went down: Franklin was concerned that Thad's killing of a partygoer might inspire some unwanted focus on him and The Family, so he concocted a plan to get rid of him while also deciding to get Rob some drug rehabilitation.

However, Thad grassed on Rob for the whole CIA agent situation, which meant his time in this mortal coil would soon be up – Franklin put a bullet in the back of Rob's head as he searched for Halley's Comet in the sky.

"I remember in season 1 when Reed killed Alejandro. One of the producers turned and looked at me and said, 'Drug dealing is a scary business and so is show business'," recalled Kowalski in an interview with TVLine.

"I knew all of this, but I still had conflicted feelings when I read the script. I was so sad, but also thrilled about the way the writers wrote his death because of how it all played out.

"There was something poetic about having White Rob die while looking at a comet."

Further on, the actor took solace in the fact that Peaches, Leon, Jerome and Louie were all left crestfallen by their pal's death.

"I read episode 2 and I remember all of these characters basically asking, 'Wow! Why did you do that?' It also goes to show you that Rob's death puts a target on their backs. Like if they do something that makes Franklin not trust them, he could shoot and kill them, too.

"White Rob was such a non-threatening presence. But he also didn't evolve and his addiction and big mouth cost him his life," explained Kowalski.

Snowfall airs on FX in the US while it's available to watch on Disney+ in the UK.
