Sarah Jessica Parker has said that she won't give The Carrie Diaries star AnnaSophia Robb advice on how to play Carrie Bradshaw.

Robb has landed the starring role in The CW's Sex and the City prequel series, which explores Carrie Bradshaw's teenage years in her Connecticut hometown and later in Manhattan.

Parker has now told Access Hollywood that she would "never" offer tips on Robb's portrayal of Bradshaw.

"It's like someone giving romance advice or parenting advice. It's such a unique experience, playing a part and I'm sure they found someone wonderful," the actress explained.

Parker was also asked whether she thinks The Carrie Diaries will be a worthy addition to the Sex and the City franchise.

"I wasn't part of it in any way, so I don't know. I'm sure it will be, definitely," she said.
